This policy explains how personal data is handled on johnkillink.com, in line with Chilean Law No. 19,628 on the protection of private life, as amended by Law No. 21,719 (in force from 1 December 2026).
Data controller: Diego Frías
Site / artist name: John Killink — johnkillink.com
Country: Chile
Contact and data rights requests: diegofriasdelvalle@gmail.com
Data processed: name, email address, subject, message, interface language, and strictly necessary technical information for security and spam prevention (browser user-agent, and the IP address used temporarily for rate limiting — the IP address is not stored in the database).
Purpose: to reply to enquiries, collaboration requests, professional commissions and messages voluntarily sent by you.
Lawful basis: pre-contractual steps requested by you where applicable, and/or legitimate interest in managing and answering communications received.
Messages sent through the contact form are never added automatically to the newsletter or used for marketing.
Data processed: email address and, where applicable, the page or source of the subscription.
Purpose: to send the free welcome sketchbook PDF and, afterwards, occasional emails about drawings, sketchbooks, projects, products and releases by John Killink.
Lawful basis: your consent, given by ticking the consent box in the subscription form.
You may withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email.
To be able to demonstrate that consent, the following is recorded: email address, date and time of subscription, source, and the version and text of the consent statement accepted. No additional unnecessary information is stored.
Some data is processed through technology providers used for hosting, database, email delivery and general site operation, including Supabase (database and email queue) and the infrastructure used by Lovable for hosting and serverless functions, according to the actual configuration of this project.
This means data may be processed or stored outside Chile; it is not claimed that data remains exclusively in Chile. Providers act as processors on documented instructions and under their own security and transfer safeguards.
Purchases of digital products and of the drawing course are made externally on Gumroad. Those transactions are handled by Gumroad and are also subject to Gumroad's own privacy policy.
Contact messages: kept only for as long as needed to reply and to manage any resulting professional relationship. Messages older than 24 months are deleted or anonymised, unless a legal obligation or an ongoing contractual relationship requires keeping them.
Newsletter: kept while the subscription remains active. When you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the active list and only the minimum information needed to honour the opt-out and to demonstrate compliance is retained.
You may exercise the rights of access, rectification, deletion, objection, portability, blocking where applicable, and withdrawal of consent.
To do so, write to diegofriasdelvalle@gmail.com. Only the information strictly necessary to identify you and handle your request will be asked for.
Under the Chilean legislation applicable from December 2026, you may also file a claim with the Chilean Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales) where appropriate.
Reasonable security measures are applied, including encrypted connections, restricted access to the database, row-level access rules, server-side input validation, and anti-abuse and anti-spam mechanisms such as rate limiting and hidden form fields. Technical details are not disclosed for security reasons.
This site does not use analytics, advertising pixels, third-party trackers or non-essential cookies. The only browser storage used is a local preference that remembers your chosen language.
